If this card is Fusion Summoned: You can make this card gain ATK equal to 1 opponent's Special Summoned monster, until the end of this turn. Once per turn: You can target 1 Level 5 or higher monster your opponent controls; until the End Phase, this card's name becomes that monster's original name, and replace this effect with that monster's original effects. If this Fusion Summoned card is destroyed: You can destroy all your opponent's Special Summoned monsters.

This monster is the cover card for Invasion: Vengeance.
This monster is the Fusion counterpart of Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, and Clear Wing Synchro Dragon.
Just like the anime effects of Odd-Eyes and Dark Rebellion, this card's effect affects Level 5 or higher monsters. Unlike the other two cards, however, and like Clear Wing, that characteristic was retained for this card's OCG/TCG effect.
Like how its counterparts are a reference to their owner's origin, Starving Venom represents Z-ARC's desire for power, his own corruption and sadistic personality, which is reflected by Yuri's corrupted personality. In the English dub, however, it also represents Z-ARC's desire for love and acceptance from the audiences, which is reflected by Yuri's hidden desire to be cared for and loved unconditionally by everyone.
Among the Four Dimension Dragons, this card has the highest ATK with 2800.
It also has the highest Level among the non-Xyz members with 8.
This card is the first Venom and Fusion Fusion Monster. (Fusionist is not a part of the Fusion archetype.)
This is also the first Dragon Venom monster, as well as the strongest in terms of ATK.
This card is the first Fusion Monster to specifically not require a Token as Fusion Material, as well as the first that cannot be Special Summoned via Contact Fusion to specifically state which location its Fusion Materials must originate from (in this case, the field).
This card's requirement for its Fusion Materials to be on the field is identical to how its Extra Deck-based Dimension Dragon counterparts require their respective materials to be on the field.
Unlike the other members of the Four Dimension Dragons, this card's Japanese name does not contain the Japanese name of its Summon mechanic. Its name contains a transliteration of the English word Fusion (フュージョン Fyūjon) instead of the Japanese name for Fusion (融合 Yūgō).
This card shares some characteristics with Black Rose Dragon.
That both bear similar floral designs as the Plant archetypes they were used with. (Predaplant and Rose)
They both have highly offensive and mass destruction effect.
Their respective owners were initially hostile to just about everyone except to the people they were dedicated to before the start of their series.
The Lunalight and Phantom Knights archetypes, ironically enough, can be used well with this card, despite the relationships between this card's user and the users of the two archetypes.
Also ironic is that this card is difficult to use in a Venom Deck due to only one other member being a DARK monster, while the others are all EARTH. It would be necessary to add several DARK members of the Reptilianne archetype to be able to summon this card (but it could still theoretically be used as a good alternative for Evil Dragon Ananta and Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes).
This monster has several distinctions from the other Four Dimension Dragons.
It is the only member whose ATK is not 2500.
It is the only non-Xyz member whose Level is not 7.
It is the only member to have an effect that activates upon its Summoning and destruction.
It is the only member whose name was changed when released in the TCG, going from Starve Venom Fusion Dragon to Starving Venom Fusion Dragon.
Despite having a recurring attack animation, it is the only member to not have an attack or effect name.
It is the only member whose effects were not all activated in the anime, as its last effect was mentioned several times but never activated.
While this card is seen used in tandem with Ultra Polymerization in the Anime, it is impossible to fully use Ultra Polymerization with this card in OCG. As per .
In the anime, this monster reuses the roars of both Red Dragon Archfiend and Black-Winged Dragon.
