Card Trivia

 This is the first Union monster in a Generation 5 booster set.
This is the first and only Union monster of the Six Samurai archetype.
This monster is an older, post-mortem version of Legendary Six Samurai - Shinai, according to the Master Guide 3 card storylines.
This is also supported by the fact that both monsters have the same armor, Type, Level, ATK and DEF (barring a difference of 1000 for each).
The Spanish Gladiator's Assault and Turbo Pack: Booster Five prints of this card have a typo, as the word Unión is printed as Union. Its lore (in both cases) uses the correct spelling.

The monster effect to "Target 1 face-up "Six Samurai" monster you control; equip this card to that target" is an Ignition Effect. It targets 1 face-up "Six Samurai" monster in the player's Monster Zone. (The effect "If the equipped monster would be destroyed, destroy this card instead" is applied while "Spirit of the Six Samurai" itself is treated as an Equip Spell Card. This effect does not make a Chain Link.)

The effect "Unequip this card and Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position" can be activated while "Spirit of the Six Samurai" itself is treated as an Equip Spell Card. (It makes a Chain Link. It can only be activated during the player's Main Phase. It does not target.)

The effect of "
Spirit of the Six Samurai" that activates when the equipped "Six Samurai" monster destroys a monster in battle begins a Chain at the time when the destroyed monster is sent to the Graveyard.

If a "Six Samurai" monster is equipped with "Legendary Ebon Steed" and "Spirit of the Six Samurai", when the equipped "Six Samurai" monster would be destroyed both the "Legendary Ebon Steed" and "Spirit of the Six Samurai" are destroyed instead.

If both "Spirit of the Six Samurai" and the equipped "Six Samurai" monster are destroyed by the same effect, the "Spirit of the Six Samurai's" effect is not applied.
