Card Trivia

This is the only Limit Over Accel Synchro Monster in the game as well as in the shows. It therefore requires at least three Synchro monsters, including exactly one Tuner Synchro Monster as a Synchro material.
This monster appears in the artwork of Limit Overdrive.
This monster has several counterparts:
Duel Dragon counterpart: Stardust Sifr Divine Dragon
Alternate-timeline counterpart: Cosmic Blazar Dragon
Retrain: Cosmic Quasar Dragon
In episode 150 of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, when this monster is Summoned and descends from above the sky, it resembles what a real quasar looks like: a giant vortex of gas with a jet of light emitting from its middle.
Since a quasar is a mass of extremely fast spinning matter around supermassive black holes located at the center of galaxies, this card's name might be referring to the spinning Ener-D that enables Synchro Summons and the fact that it is Summoned by a highly-evolved version of the Synchro Summon.
The bond of Team 5D's is also shown in this card's artwork, with 6 Synchro Rings behind it, each colored differently.
There are six Synchro rings behind it all colored differently to represent the bonds used to create the dragon. From the ring furthest in the back to the one in the front, they are Black-Winged Dragon (black), Red Dragon Archfiend (maroon), Black Rose Dragon (red), Ancient Fairy Dragon (green), Life Stream Dragon (yellow) and Stardust Dragon (white), respectively.
This card's Synchro requirements (1 Tuner Synchro Monster + 2 or more non-Tuner Synchro Monsters), Level, ATK and DEF are shared with its counterparts and T.G. Halberd Cannon.
The ATK and DEF of this card can be found by adding 700 ATK to the ATK of Shooting Star Dragon, similar to T.G. Blade Blaster and T.G. Halberd Cannon, as this card and Halberd Cannon are both evolved Accel Synchro Monsters.
This card's effect is similar to (if not reminiscent of) the effect from Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode. Shooting Quasar Dragon can negate any card effect and Special Summon Shooting Star Dragon from the Extra Deck when it leaves the field, much like how Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode can negate any card effect and Special Summons Stardust Dragon when it's destroyed and sent to the Graveyard.
This monster's artwork seems to mirror Cosmic Blazar Dragon's artwork.
Shooting Quasar Dragon is going up to the right, with its head turned to the left.
Cosmic Blazar Dragon is going down to the left, with its head turned to the right.
This monster's body is similar to those of the Timelord monsters.
Fittingly, this card was used by Yusei Fudo during his Duel against Z-one in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime, who used a Timelord Deck.
Just as how Stardust Dragon opposes Red Dragon Archfiend and Shooting Star Dragon opposes Red Nova Dragon, this card is likely a rival to Red Supernova Dragon".

"Must be Synchro Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways" is not treated as an effect of an Effect Monster.: Shooting Quasar Dragon: Please elaborate on how the effects of "Shooting Quasar Dragon" work.

The "This card's maximum number of attacks per Battle Phase equals the number of non-Tuner monsters used as its Synchro Material." effect is a Continuous Effect.

It is not necessary to perform these additional attacks in a row. You can attack once, attack with a different monster, and then perform the second attack.

While performing a second or higher attack with "Shooting Quasar Dragon", if "Skill Drain" is activated at Attack Declaration or during the Battle Step, since "Shooting Quasar Dragon" has its effects negated, the attack stops. Also, if "Shooting Quasar Dragon" has its effects negated by "Forbidden Chalice" during the "Damage Step", you still perform damage calculation.: While performing a second or higher attack with "Shooting Quasar Dragon", if "Skill Drain" is activated, what happens with the attack?

After Synchro Summoning "Shooting Quasar Dragon", if it is changed to face-down Defense Position by the effect of "Book of Moon", and then flipped face-up once again, it can only attack once per turn.: If "Shooting Quasar Dragon" is flipped face-down, what happens to the effect that allows it to attack multiple times?

If "Shooting Quasar Dragon" can attack three times by its own effect, and it is equipped with "Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce", "Shooting Quasar Dragon" can attack a maximum of three times. Even after "Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce" is destroyed, it can still attack a three times.: If "Shooting Quasar Dragon" is equipped with "Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce", how many times can it attack?

The "Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated: You can negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it." effect is a Quick Effect that can be activated during the Damage Step. It does not target.

This effect of "Shooting Quasar Dragon" is applied as follows.: Can the effect of "Shooting Quasar Dragon" negate the activation of Continuous Spell/Trap Cards?
It can negate the activation of the effects of Continuous Spell Cards like "Gateway of the Six", Continuous Trap Cards like "Ultimate Offering", and Field Spell Cards like "Dragon Ravine".
It can negate the activation of effects activated outside of the field. For example, the effect of "Black Pendant" that is activated when it is sent to the Graveyard, the effect of "Skill Successor" that is activated from the Graveyard, or the effect of a banished "D.D. Scout Plane".
When resolving the effect of Shooting Quasar Dragon, if it is no longer face-up on the field, its effect is still applied.

The "When this card leaves the field: You can Special Summon 1 "Shooting Star Dragon" from your Extra Deck." effect is a Trigger Effect that can be activated even if this card leaves the field during the Damage Step. It does not target. Furthermore, if you have no copies of "Shooting Star Dragon" in your Extra Deck, this effect cannot be activated.

If a face-down Defense Position "Shooting Quasar Dragon" leaves the field, you cannot Special Summon "Shooting Star Dragon". If your opponent controls your "Shooting Quasar Dragon" and it leaves the field, you can Special Summon "Shooting Star Dragon".: If "Shooting Quasar Dragon" leaves the field while face-down or while your opponent controls it, can you Special Summon "Shooting Star Dragon"?

If "Shooting Quasar Dragon" leaves the field in the middle of an effect resolution, or as Chain Link 2 or higher, the effect to Special Summon "Shooting Star Dragon" cannot be activated.: If "Shooting Quasar Dragon" leaves the field in the middle of a chain, can you Special Summon "Shooting Star Dragon"?

If "Shooting Star Dragon" is Special Summoned by the effect of "Shooting Quasar Dragon", it is not treated as being properly Summoned. If it is sent to the Graveyard or it is banished, it cannot be Special Summoned.: If "Shooting Star Dragon" is Special Summoned by the effect of "Shooting Quasar Dragon", is it treated as being properly Summoned?
