This monster's red color scheme is based on the color of Link Arrows, while its blue flames represent the color of Link Monsters.
According to Bohman, this monster represents the power of the friendship between Flame, the FIRE Ignis, and Soulburner.
This card can also be considered a combination of Windy and Flame's strength as well since a Phoenix is a fire-based bird and Windy was absorbed by Flame shortly before Flame was terminated.
Despite its namesake, this is the first Salamangreat monster whose appearance bears no resemblance to the animal its named after. Instead, it resembles a phoenix-themed humanoid.
Per its naming, this monster represents a Phoenix.
Its ability to destroy every card the opponent controls upon Reincarnation Link Summon represents the Phoenix's ability to burst into flames - potentially causing mass destruction - before perishing and subsequently reviving itself as Pyro Phoenix requires another copy of itself to be used as material in order to activate its nuke effect.
When this monster attacks in the anime, it gets engulfed into blue flames which forms a fiery avatar in the form of a Phoenix.
This monster shares similarities to Phoenix Gearfried, another monster used by Soulburner.
Both share the same battle cry.
Both have the same Attribute and ATK.
Both resemble phoenix-themed warriors. As a result both monsters indirectly represent reincarnating, something ever present in Soulburner's character.
Both monsters play a key part to the events in Soulburner's life, and both coincidentally involve the first and last Duel Flame had with him.
Phoenix Gearfried was the card he used in his first Duel since the Hanoi Project where he finally overcame his trauma from the Hanoi Project which took the form of Despair from the Dark, something that took place shortly after meeting Flame.
Pyro Phoenix debuted in his duel with Bohman, summoned shortly after Flame's demise due to sacrificing himself to save Soulburner from Windy.
Fire Phoenix @Ignister seems to be derived from this card.
Both have the same Attribute and Type.
Both monsters represent a Phoenix. Though in Fire Phoenix's case, it both represents and resembles one.
It has three-fourths of Pyro Phoenix's Link Arrows, even being in the same position (left, right and down).
It has improved/weaker effects to it:
It has a destruction effect that triggers when its destroyed before reviving itself, where it destroys one monster the opponent controls, whereas Pyro Phoenix destroys all cards the opponent controls upon Reincarnation Link Summon.
It has a burn effect when it attacks, where it inflicts burn damage equal to the attack of the monster Fire Phoenix attacks, while Pyro Phoenix inflicts the same amount of burn if the opponent Special Summons a Link Monster.
Lastly, its ability to make battle damage zero is akin Pyro Phoenix's anime effect where it can make the ATK of an opponent's monster zero if “Pyro uses its effect to Special Summon a Link Monster from the opponent's Graveyard to their field.
They even shared the same battle cry, though Fire Phoenix's was changed in subsequent episodes.
