OCG Rulings
None of the text of "Royal Swamp Eel" is treated as an effect,: Effect Monster > Royal Swamp Eel so it cannot be negated by effects like that of "Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth". Thus, if you are using "Royal Swamp Eel" as a Synchro Material Monster, then all the other Synchro Material Monsters must be Fish-Type monsters, even if "Royal Swamp Eel" was Special Summoned by the effect of "Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth".: If "Royal Swamp Eel" was Special Summoned by the effect of "Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth", then can a Synchro Summon be Summoned by using monsters other than Fish-Type monsters?
