This cards image is possibly the Army the Marauding Captain fought, and needed his own Reinforcements to defeat, hence this card's name.
The TCG version of this card is named Reinforcements, while the OCG version is called Reinforcement of the Army; the TCG card Reinforcement of the Army has the OCG name of Reinforcement.
This card has an DEF increasing counterpart, Castle Walls and a DEF reducing counterpart, Snake Fang.
This card also has stronger and weaker Trap counterparts: Inspiration and Shield Spear respectively.

TCG Rulings
Fake Feather: If the effect of the copied Normal Trap Card targets, you have to select the target for the copied effect when "Fake Feather" resolves. In this case, “Fake Feather” targets the Normal Trap Card, as well as the target for the effect.
(Example: If you activate “Fake Feather” and target “Reinforcements,” then target “Spirit Reaper,” “Fake Feather” targets both cards, so “Spirit Reaper” is destroyed.)
OCG Rulings
For effects that last during the "activation turn" - like "Exarion Universe", "Spirit Elimination", and "Reinforcements" - the effect ends during the End Phase. The player chooses when to end the effect, as per the rules of Priority.:
If "Fake Feather" targets a Normal Trap Card that targets, then "Fake Feather" targets both the Normal Trap Card in your opponent's Graveyard and the card that the Normal Trap Card would normally target.: Is "Spirit Reaper" destroyed when it is targeted by the effect of the Normal Trap Card targeted by "Fake Feather"?
Example: "Fake Feather" is activated and targets both "Reinforcements" and "Spirit Reaper". "Spirit Reaper" will destroy itself because it was targeted by "Fake Feather".
If "Junk Collector" is the only monster on the field, then you cannot activate its effect by removing from play "Reinforcements", since there would be no monsters on the field to be targeted by the ATK-increasing effect.: If "Junk Collector" is the only monster on the field, then can you activate its effect by removing from play "Reinforcements"?
If you attack an opponent's face-down monster and it is flipped face-up by battle, then you can activate cards like "Castle Walls" or "Reinforcements" before damage calculation.: Can you activate "Castle Walls" in the Damage Step to increase DEF?
Ryu Senshi: The effect of "Ryu Senshi" that negates Normal Trap Cards cannot be activated in the Damage Step, such as if "Reinforcements" is activated during the Damage Step..: Can you activate the effect of "Ryu Senshi" during the Battle Phase (Damage Step)?
The Dragon's Bead: During the Damage Step, you cannot activate a face-down "The Dragon's Bead". Also, if "The Dragon's Bead" is already face-up, then you cannot activate its effect during the Damage Step, for example, against "Reinforcements
You choose the monster to receive the ATK increase when you activate this card. This card targets.
If you activate two "Reinforcements" on the same monster, its ATK increases by 1000.
Gradius' Option: Equipping "Axe of Despair" to "Gradius' Option" has no purpose. Activating "Reinforcements" targeting "Gradius' Option" serves no purpose. "Luminous Spark" on the field will not change the ATK/DEF of "Gradius' Option". It always has the same ATK/DEF of the selected "Gradius".
Life Absorbing Machine: Example: It is your turn. During your Standby Phase you pay 500 Life Points for your "Terrorking Archfiend". During your Main Phase 1 you activate "Life Absorbing Machine". Then you activate "Delinquent Duo" and pay 1000 Life Points for its cost. You Set "Seven Tools of the Bandit" and end your turn. During your opponent's turn they activate "Reinforcements" and you chain "Seven Tools of the Bandit" to negate and destroy it. Your opponent ends their turn. During your Standby Phase the effect of "Life Absorbing Machine" increases your Life Points by 250 (half of "Terrorking Archfiend"s cost) then again by 500 (half of "Delinquent Duo"s cost).
