Card Trivia

This card is the first Level 12 Synchro Monster to have appeared in the OCG, TCG and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's series, so far. It is also the first Synchro Monster that requires 2 Tuners.
However, it's not the first Synchro Monster able to be Synchro Summoned by the use of 2 (or more) Tuners. XX-Saber Gottoms can use multiple Tuner monsters to be Summoned.
This card is an avatar form of the final and strongest Earthbound Immortal, Red Nova, after Jack managed to subjugate its power and seal it inside a card via the state of Blazing Soul.
This makes it the first and only card related to both the Signer Dragons and the Earthbound Immortals. It is, after all, an advanced form of Red Dragon Archfiend, the strongest Signer Dragon (ATK-wise) after absorbing Red Nova, the strongest Earthbound Immortal, as stated above.
As with Stardust Dragon and Red Dragon Archfiend, this card and Shooting Star Dragon share a rivalrous relationship.
This card's first effect mirrors Shooting Star Dragon, as this card gain more ATK based on Tuners in the Graveyard (the past) while Shooting Star Dragon gains more attacks based on Tuners in the Deck (the future).
Both require a minimum of 3 Tuner monster to Synchro Summon. Shooting Star Dragon requires 1 Tuner for Stardust Dragon, 1 to bring out the Synchro Tuner which is the third before tuning with Stardust Dragon. Red Nova Dragon simply uses two Tuner monsters right off the bat plus the one used for Red Dragon Archfiend.
Shooting Star Dragon was given to Yusei Fudo by a futuristic god, Red Nova Dragon is claimed by Jack Atlas after sealing an ancient devil.
Shooting Star Dragon was given to Yusei in Clear Mind while Red Nova Dragon was given to Jack Atlas when he proved that he has a Blazing Soul. Both Jack and Yusei make reference to the states of Clear Mind and Blazing Soul as opposite concepts, and weapons to defeat Iliaster (episode 113).
Yusei obtained Shooting Star Dragon in a Turbo Duel, while Jack Atlas obtained Red Nova Dragon in a Ground Duel.
Shooting Star Dragon was made out of the evolution of Synchro Summons (Accel Synchro Summon) while Red Nova is another Synchro Summon with more power (Double Tuning). This also represents Yusei and Jack's idea of becoming better Duelists and gaining more power respectively.
The way this card is released in the same pack as Shooting Star Dragon and not being a cover card mimics the way Stardust Dragon and Red Dragon Archfiend were released in The Duelist Genesis.
Also, Red Nova Dragon and Shooting Star Dragon are facing opposite directions in the same way Stardust Dragon and Red Dragon Archfiend are looking in opposite directions, although their poses mirror one another.
This card shares ATK with other advanced forms of Red Dragon Archfiend: Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode and Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Bane.
Also, this card shares its DEF with Majestic Red Dragon.
This card is similar to Seto Kaiba's Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon as they are both Level 12 Extra Deck monsters and their owners are both rivals to the protagonists; their materials are also commonly used by the owner.
Also, they both require 3 Materials to be Special Summoned.
This card is also similar to Kite's Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon:
Both cards require 3 Materials.
Both of the monsters have effects to gain ATK in intervals of 500.
This monster appears in the artwork for Red Carpet.
When this monster attacks, it will fold its wings, then do a spin and finally shoot at the opponent while encased in fire.
This card's Japanese name, Scar-Red Nova Dragon, is a pun on scarlet.
This card is named after the spacial phenomenon nova.
This card is the only Cosmic Synchro Monster whose ATK is neither 3300 nor 4000.
This card has an evolved form: Red Supernova Dragon.
