 This card's Japanese name contains シェル sheru, a pun on shell and Sheriruth (シェリダー Sheridā rejection), the third Qliphoth emanation which is associated with the Devil Lucifuge Rofocale.
In computing, a shell is a user interface for access to an operating system's services. This monster also has the appearance of an actual gastropod shell.
The shielding protecting this monster from incoming laser beams has a striking resemblance to the artwork of Skill Prisoner and the AT Fields of Neon Genesis Evangelion.
