This card is similar to Shark's signature card in the anime, Number 32: Shark Drake. Both are Sea Serpent-Type WATER monsters, and both are Shark's second Number card, which were given to him by another person, and then became his aces.
Although this card made an appearance in chapter 20 of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL manga, all information about it was revealed in the OCG first, being printed before its appearance, stats and effects appeared in the manga.
Art Stanley makes a design of Shark that looks a lot like this monster in Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL episode 78.
