Card Trivia

This card has a counterpart card, Morpheus, the Dream Mirror White Knight. The back of this card can be seen in its counterpart, and vice versa (a signature characteristic of the Dream Mirror archetype).
This card and its counterpart are named after , the Greco-Roman god of dreams. He and his brothers, Ikelos and Phantasos, could bring dreams or nightmares at their whim to mankind.
This card might be an interpretation of the Black Knight fantasy trope, or the idealistic dream of a rogue knight who is set up as a rival, foil or enemy to the stereotypical White Knight.
The mirror showing the back of its counterpart card might signify that this monster has a hidden good side in spite of his seemingly heinous qualities.
The god Morpheus's brother, Ikelos, is also referenced in the Dream Mirror archetype, as Ikelos, the Dream Mirror Sprite, and Ikelos, the Dream Mirror Mara. However, Ikelos has been depicted as female for these cards. Their brother Phantasos is represented by the cards Phantasos, the Dream Mirror Friend and Phantasos, the Dream Mirror Foe.
