Card Trivia

In the Maltese language, Dragun means dragon.
This monster is holding The Flute of Summoning Dragon in his right hand. According to the anime, it appears to be his weapon.
Though this card is available in Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2008, it can't be summoned without a Fusion Substitute Monster because one of its Fusion Material Monsters, Divine Dragon Ragnarok is not in the game.
There are 3 Gemini monsters that have a similar effect to this card, Il Blud, Doom Shaman and Gigaplant.
This card's first effect is the same as Lord of D., which is one of its Fusion Material Monsters, while its second effect is similar to that of The Flute of Summoning Dragon, which also Special Summons Dragon-Type monsters from the hand.
This card has a Xyz counterpart Queen Dragun Djinn.
While this card protects Dragons from being targeted by card effects and allows you to Special Summon from your hand, Queen Dragun Djinn protects other Dragons from being destroyed by battle and lets you Special Summon from your Graveyard.
This card has twice the ATK of Lord of D. and its DEF points.

Rulings

OCG Rulings

The effect "Your opponent cannot select any Dragon-Type monsters as the target(s) of Spell, Trap, or Monster Card effects." is a Continuous Effect.: King Dragun

While this effect of "King Dragun" is being applied, your opponent cannot target Dragon-Type monsters on the field. (Your opponent can target Dragon-Type monsters in the Graveyard and banished Dragon-Type monsters.)

Even if an effect targets 2 or more cards like "Icarus Attack", your opponent still cannot target Dragon-Type monsters.

Your opponent can use effects that do not target like "Creature Swap" or "Super Polymerization" on Dragon-Type monsters.

The effect "Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 Dragon-Type monster from your hand." is an Ignition Effect

Previously Official Rulings

The first effect of "
King Dragun" is a Continuous Effect. The second effect of "King Dragun" is an Ignition Effect.

Your opponent cannot target a Dragon-Type Fusion Monster with "De-Fusion" while "King Dragun" or "Lord of D." is on the field because "De-Fusion" targets.

"Divine Wrath" is NOT a card that targets, so "Divine Wrath" may be used against Dragon-Type monsters while "King Dragun" or "Lord of D." is on the field.

You can chain "Divine Wrath" to the effect of "King Dragun" that Special Summons a Dragon-Type monster.

Mentions in Other Rulings

Divine Wrath: You can chain "Divine Wrath" to the effect of "King Dragun" that Special summons a Dragon-Type monster.

Last Turn: "Last Turn" does not target so you can select monsters like "Tyrant Dragon" and "Fiend Skull Dragon" for its effect, or a Dragon-Type monster while "King Dragun" or "Lord of D." is on the field. You can select "Spirit Reaper" and it will not be destroyed by its effect.
