Master Monk and the destroyed remains of Millennium Shield appear in this card's artwork.
This is ironic, as the original TCG flavor lore of Millennium Shield claims that it can block any strong attack.
Kaminote (神の手) literally translates to God's Hand. This title name is famously associated with the Kyokyushin Karate founder and master Masutatsu Oyama, whose feats of martial arts and strength by his intense and devoted training displayed him being able to take down live oxen and whose punches were so powerful that they could not be merely blocked against, earning him his signature namesake. As such, the card's effects reference this by the opposing card being destroyed at the end of the Damage Phase regardless if it won or not.
