This monster is based on the Norse god of wisdom, war and prophecy, Odin. Hoárr is one of the numerous names of Odin. The name Hoa'rr means One Eyed, which is fitting, since in Norse mythology, Odin gave up his eye in order to drink from the well of Mimir, in order to gain wisdom and memory, he also gained the power to see into the future.
