This card is based on Alberich, a dwarf who guards the treasure of the Nibelungen, in Norse mythology.
This card is similar in name, effect, and design to Fairy King Truesdale.
The Japanese name of Truesdale, Oberon, is the French translation of Alberich used for the name of the King of Fairies in French and English texts.
This card has also similarities with Fairy Knight Ingunar such as Type, Attribute, theme and naming.
Oddly, despite this card being a Fairy King, it is actually a Plant-Type monster, not a Fairy.
The same is also true for Fairy King Truesdale.

Detaching 1 Xyz Material is a cost.: Xyz Monster > Fairy King Albverdich
Monsters you control that aren't of EARTH Attribute also lose 500 ATK and DEF.
If "DNA Transplant" is active, this card also reduces its own ATK and DEF by 500.
This effect is applied to monsters that aren't of EARTH Attribute that are face-up when the effect resolves.
Monsters that aren't of EARTH Attribute that appear on the field after the effect resolves do not have their ATK and DEF decreased.
Monsters affected by this effect have their ATK and DEF reduced as long as they remain face-up.
If this effect is activated multiple times, the ATK and DEF are reduced accordingly.
This effect cannot be activated if all face-up monsters are of EARTH Attribute.
If "Shrink" is used on a monster that was affected by the effect of "Fairy King Albverdich", the ATK of the monster is recalculated.
For example, if there's a "Cyber Dragon" when the effect of "Fairy King Albverdich" is activated, the ATK of that "Cyber Dragon" is reduced to 1600 after the effect of "Fairy King Albverdich" resolves, but if later the effect of "Shrink" is applied, after recalculating, 500 ATK is substracted by the effect of "Fairy King Albverdich" from half of "Cyber Dragon" "original ATK" of 2100 which is 1050, with the end result being that the ATK of "Cyber Dragon" is 550. Furthermore, after the effect of "Shrink" is no longer applied, the ATK of "Cyber Dragon" returns to 1600.: If "Shrink" is used on a monster that was affected by the effect of "Fairy King Albverdich" which reduces the ATK and DEF of non-EARTH monsters by 500, what does its ATK become?
