Rulings

In the "TCG", the effect of "Evilswarm Coppelia" is optional, and can only be activated when it leaves the field by an opponent's card (by battle or card effect). In the "OCG", the effect of "Evilswarm Coppelia" is mandatory, and activates whenever it leaves the field by an opponent's card (by battle, card effect, or cost).

If this card leaves the field during the Damage Step, its effect will activate. Also, even if this card destroyed in battle by an opponent's monster and sent to the Graveyard, its effect will activate.

If "Evilswarm Coppelia" is returned to the hand or banished, its effect will activate. However, if "Evilswarm Coppelia" is returned to the Deck, its effect won't activate.: If "Evilswarm Coppelia" is on the field and it is returned to the hand or Deck, or is banished, does its effect to take control of an opponent's monster activate?

If the opponent activates "Share the Pain", when you resolve the effect that forces you to Tribute 1 of your monsters, if you choose "Evilswarm Coppelia", the effect of "Evilswarm Coppelia" does not activate.: If the opponent activates "Share the Pain", when you resolve the effect that forces you to tribute 1 of your monsters, if you choose "Evilswarm Coppelia", does its effect activate?
