Burstinatrix is a blend of burst and dominatrix (originally the feminine form of Latin dominator (lord) that means lady, but now chiefly sexually dominating woman).
Burstinatrixs original TCG flavor text says she is the only female Elemental HERO. This was correct at time of printing which was The Lost Millennium, and this notion was later reinforced with Fifth Hope to say, more properly, that she was the only female member of the original five Elemental HEROes. With the release of Elemental HERO Lady Heat, Elemental HERO Poison Rose and subsequent female Elemental HEROes, this is no longer true. Elemental HERO Rampart Blaster is also female, but it is likely that Fusions didn't count, or simply counted as a combination of Burstinatrix and Clayman. This flavor text was corrected in Legendary Collection 2: The Duel Academy Years Mega Pack to say that she was the first female Elemental HERO.
The OCG text, on the other hand, maintains expressions such as the Japanese 紅一点 (kōitten the sole female among males) and the Korean 홍일점 (hong-iljeom, borrowed from Japanese). This is justified, because the latest print of Burstinatrix still predates the first prints of Lady Heat and Poison Rose.
The costume of Burstinatrix resembles DC Comics heroes Argent from the Teen Titans.
She is also most likely based off of DC Comics superheroine Starfire.
Interestingly, on The King of Copycats DVD from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX series, Burstinatrix is wearing her OCG costume and not the edited version she wears in the TCG.
This monster appears in the artwork of the following cards:
Burst Return
Dark Fusion
Elemental Recharge
Fifth Hope
HERO's Bond
Generation Next (card)
Burst Impact
Hero's Backup
Spiritual Fusion
Unlike the other members (Avian WIND, Clayman EARTH, Bubbleman WATER and Sparkman LIGHT), this card has Fusion monster with the others elements, but she doesn't have Fusion Monster with Elemental HERO Sparkman ; (like Avian and Bubbleman to form Elemental HERO Tempest or like Clayman to form Elemental HERO Thunder Giant).
==Fusions==
The Fusions of Burstinatrix gain her powers over fire.
Elemental HERO Burstinatrix combines with:
Elemental HERO Avian into Elemental HERO Flame Wingman, Elemental HERO Phoenix Enforcer, and Evil HERO Inferno Wing.
Elemental HERO Clayman into Elemental HERO Rampart Blaster and Evil HERO Infernal Sniper.
Elemental HERO Bubbleman into Elemental HERO Steam Healer.
Elemental HERO Avian, Elemental HERO Clayman, and Elemental HERO Bubbleman into Elemental HERO Electrum.
