This monster seems to be based on the Ica stones, a famous Peruvian hoax popularized by Peruvian physician Javier Cabrera, hence the name and its unusual design. Tenzen Yanagi's card Cabrera Stone is also based on this source.
This card seems to symbolize Trey's evil side, as it is the first Chronomaly monster that has a dark appearance.
