In the religion of ancient Egypt, a shabti was a funerary figurine, usually in the form of a mummy, which served as a dead man’s deputy in order to do labor for him, mostly agricultural, in the afterlife.
The shabti were used by Shadi in the third volume of the manga for his Shadow Game.
Similar to initial printings of Waboku and Hallowed Life Barrier, this card prior to its most recent printing in Legendary Collection 3: Yugi's World Mega Pack does not properly communicate its effect. It relies on the inference that a monster that takes no Battle Damage from an attack cannot be destroyed by that attack, but does not state that the player who controls the monster still takes Battle Damage.

You can activate the effect of "Charm of Shabti" during the Damage Step.
"Charm of Shabti" is like a reverse-"Kuriboh": you take damage from the attack as normal, but your monster is unharmed.
