Card Trivia

In the OCG, this card is named after Zhang Ling (Chou Ryou) (read in Japanese as Chō Ryō) and sky (ten).
Though he did not belong to the 108 Liangshan heroes, Zhang Ling was a character in the novel.
Zhang Ling is nicknamed, Celestial Master (Tenshi).
According to wikipedia, marshal Hong Xin was sent to search for the Master (Ling) so that he may help in combating a plague. He then met a boy who informed Hong Xin that the Master is aware of the plague and is heading to the capital. He was later informed that the boy he met was in fact the Master.
This part of the novel explains why Spirit has a boy's body.
This was the third of the 3 Magazine Promo Fire Fist monsters to be revealed; the second was Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Lion Emperor; and the first was Horse Prince.
Unlike the rest of the Fire Fist monsters, these 3 cards and Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Eagle are not members of the 108 Liangshan Heroes, however they are still featured in the novel.
Even though this card and Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Horse Prince have the same flame colors, they don't appear in any Fire Formation cards.
This card is the first Fire Fist monster to be Limited, in the TCG.

The effect of "Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Spirit" that Special Summons a level 3 FIRE monster with 200 DEF or less from the Graveyard in face-up Defense Position can be activated during the Main Phase 2 of a turn in which non-Beast-Warrior-Type monsters have declared an attack.: Can the effect of "Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Spirit" that Special Summons a level 3 FIRE monster with 200 DEF or less from the Graveyard in face-up Defense Position be activated during the Main Phase 2 of a turn in which non-Beast-Warrior-Type monsters have declared an attack?

If at the time of the resolution of the effect of "Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Spirit" a monster could not be Special Summoned from the Graveyard because the monster targeted for the effect of "Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Spirit" was banished, the effect that stops non-Beast-Warrior-Type monsters from declaring attacks is not applied. You can still declare attacks during the Battle Phase of this turn with non-Beast-Warrior-Type monsters.: "D.D. Crow" was activated in a chain to the activation of the effect of "Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Spirit". If at the time of the resolution of the effect of "Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Spirit" a monster could not be Special Summoned from the Graveyard because the monster targeted for the effect of "Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Spirit" was banished, do non-Beast-Warrior-Type monsters become unable to declare attacks during the Battle Phase of this turn?

If "Skill Drain" is activated after "Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Spirit" Special Summons a monster, since the effect that prevents non-Beast-Warrior-Type monsters from attacking has already been applied, "Skill Drain" cannot negate it and non-Beast-Warrior-Type monsters cannot declare an attack.: If "Skill Drain" is activated after "Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Spirit" Special Summons a monster, can non-Beast-Warrior-Type monsters declare an attack?
