Card Trivia

The three Aesir monsters are named after three of the Norse Gods.
This card is based on Thor, the god of thunder and oak trees in Norse mythology. Strangely, however, this card is not a Thunder or Plant-Type monster. Instead, it is a Beast-Warrior, based on the Type of the Nordic Beast Tuner monster necessary for its Synchro Summon.
This card shares the same Type and Attribute as Loki, Lord of the Aesir and Odin, Father of the Aesir in the anime.
In the anime, it was DIVINE and Divine-Beast. In the OCG/TCG, it was changed to EARTH and Beast-Warrior.
This card holds the legendary hammer Mjölnir in his left hand.
Ironically, the card Divine Relic Mjollnir does not appear to be the weapon this card is holding.
The handle of Thor's hammer is shaped like that of a thurisaz rune.
This monster appears in the artwork of March Towards Ragnarok.
This card has the same Type, Level, Attribute, ATK and DEF as Gaia Drake, the Universal Force.  Both cards are also Extra Deck monsters (this being a Synchro Monster, whereas Gaia Drake is a Fusion Monster.)

None of these effects target. : Storm of Ragnarok -- Card Rulings (Version 1.0)

All of these effects start a Chain.

Negating your opponent’s monster effects is an Ignition Effect. You can only use it during one of your Main Phases.

You cannot activate "Thor’s" effect to negate effects unless your opponent controls at least one face-up Effect Monster.

If your opponent takes control of "Thor" in a Chain with his effect to negate the effects of your opponent’s face-up monsters, his effect will be negated.

"Thor" will still negate the effects of your opponent’s face-up monsters, even if he’s face-down when his effect resolves.

This effect will not negate the effects of monsters that activate in the Graveyard, such as "Sangan".

Monsters Summoned after "Thor’s" effect resolves won’t have their effects negated.
