This is the only Legendary Planet based on a dwarf planet. However, when the Yu-Gi-Oh GX manga was initially released, Pluto was still considered a full planet.
In terms of this monster's visual design, it also bears a strong resemblance to Osamu Tezuka's manga character Pluto—the main villain of the famous Greatest Robot in History arc of the Astro Boy franchise—as well as Naoki Urasawa's re-imagining, also titled Pluto. While the creatures differ in that Tezuka's character is a robot and The Suppression Pluto is organic-looking, the two share similar designs, demonic forms, and the use of extendable whips and horns in battle.
