Card Trivia

This card is based on the mythical unicorn.
This card is also the strongest Level 4 monster in the game without a negative effect.
The imp-like creature in this card's artwork also appears in that of The Fabled Kudabbis.
The white colour of the creature seems to refer to this card's status as a Synchro Monster, all of which have white card backgrounds.
This creature's name is Gree as pointed out in Duel Terminal Master Guide.
This card has a lswarm counterpart, Evilswarm Thanatos.
In Thanatos artwork, Fabled Ragin is mounted on this card.
This card has a Nekroz counterpart, Nekroz of Unicore.
As this card's negation effect is Continuous, this is one of the very few cards that can actually negate Super Polymerization or other similar cards that prevent the activation of effects in response.

The Fabled Unicore" must be face-up on the field for its effect to work. You can activate Counter Trap Cards to negate the Synchro Summon of "The Fabled Unicore".: The Fabled Unicore vs Summon Negation

On Negating Effects

If the opponent activates the effect of a Continuous Spell or Trap Card which is already face-up on the field while the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" is active, then the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" will negate its effect and destroy it.: Can the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" negate the activation of the effect of a Continuous Spell or Trap Card which is face-up on the field?

If the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" is active and the effect of a Continuous Spell or Trap Card like "Level Limit - Area B" or "Gravity Bind" is also active, then the effect of the Spell or Trap Card will remain active and will not be negated.

The effect of "The Fabled Unicore" which negates the activation of a monster's effect and destroys the monster will also negate the effect of "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness" which activates in the hand, so that the effect is negated and the "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness" in the hand is destroyed.: Can the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" negate the effect of a card which activates in a place other than on the field?

The effect of "The Fabled Unicore" will also negate the effect of "Sangan" which activates in the Graveyard, the effect of "D.D. Survivor" which activates in the place to where cards are removed from play, and the effect of "Serpentine Princess" which activates in the Deck. However, "Sangan", "D.D. Survivor", and "Serpentine Princess" will not be destroyed, since they are in the Graveyard, the place to where cards are removed from play, and the Deck.

The effect of "The Fabled Unicore" will also negate the effect of "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero" which activates in the Extra Deck. The "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero" in the Extra Deck will be destroyed and sent to the Graveyard.

Suppose "Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror" and "The Fabled Unicore" are both face-up on the field, and a player Tribute Summons "Caius the Shadow Monarch". If both players have the same number of cards in their hands when resolving the effect of "Caius the Shadow Monarch", then the turn player's effect negates the effect of "Caius the Shadow Monarch". Or, if the same player controls both "Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror" and "The Fabled Unicore", then that player chooses which effect negates the effect of "Caius the Shadow Monarch".: Does "Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror" or "The Fabled Unicore" negate the effect?

On Counting Cards

The effect of "The Fabled Unicore" can negate effects and destroy them even if both players have 0 cards in their hands.: Synchro Monster > The Fabled Unicore

If "Solemn Judgment" is activated to negate the Special Summon of "Cyber Dragon", then "Cyber Dragon" is not considered to be in the hand when the effect of "Solemn Judgment" resolves. Thus, if a player controls "The Fabled Unicore", both players have 5 cards in their hands, and "Solemn Judgment" is activated when "Cyber Dragon" is being Special Summoned, then when resolving the effect of "Solemn Judgment" one player has 4 cards in his hand and the other player has 5, so the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" is not applied and the effect of "Solemn Judgment" will not be negated.: If "Solemn Judgment" is activated when Special Summoning "Cyber Dragon", then will it be negated by the effect of "The Fabled Unicore"?

For the effect of "The Fabled Unicore", if both players have the same number of cards when the effect of a Spell Card, a Trap Card, or an Effect Monster Card is resolving, then that activated effect is negated. Suppose you control "The Fabled Unicore":: The effect of "The Fabled Unicore" can negate an opponent's card if the hand sizes are the same at what time?
If both players have five cards in their hands and afterwards the opponent activates a Normal Spell Card, then when resolving the effect of the Spell Card the opponent only has four cards in his hand and you have five, so the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" is not applied and the effect of the opponent's Spell Card is not negated.
If you have five cards in your hand and the opponent has six cards in his hand, and afterwards the opponent activates "Divine Wrath" or the effect of "Honest", then when resolving the effect of "Divine Wrath" or "Honest" both players have five cards in their hands, so the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" is applied and the effect of "Divine Wrath" or "Honest" is negated.
If you have zero cards in your hand and the opponent has five cards in his hand, and afterwards the opponent activates "Beckoning Light", then the opponent's hand size becomes zero in the middle of resolving the effect of "Beckoning Light", so the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" is not applied and the effect of "Beckoning Light" is not negated.

Miscellaneous

The Fabled" monsters are also treated as "Fabled" monsters.: Are "The Fabled" monsters also "Fabled" monsters?
Example: You may use "The Fabled Rubyruda" or "The Fabled Cerburrel" for the "1 "Fabled" Tuner" Synchro Material Monster of "The Fabled Unicore".
