Its name is a portmanteau of Omake (御負け Omake) which means extra or bonus just like how this card adds a bonus or extra attack power to Crystal Wing when used for its Synchro Summon, MK Gun (エムケイガン Emukei Gan) like how it shoots Ohajikid from its box, and Gum (ガム Gamu) probably representing the box behind OMK Gum as a box of Gum.
The animation of the monster's summoning resembles animation used in the anime Transformers: Car Robots, another anime by Studio Gallop.
