Card Trivia

The term Pineapple commonly refers to the Mk 2 Grenade.
This card has an Anime-only counterpart, Shadow Balance.
It also has a Koa'ki Meiru counterpart, Core Blast.  Incidentally, both cards have the word Blast in their names.
When Kozaky and Magical Scientist were making the Koa'ki Meirus, they probably made equipment to safeguard their new species (possibly based off existing technology). If this was true, then it would explain the similarities of both these cards.
The Spanish Dark Revelation Volume 1 print of this card showed several typos on its lore, namely a lack of diacritical marks.

Rulings

OCG Rulings

The effect of "Pineapple Blast" destroys the opponent's monsters, so you cannot destroy Spell nor Trap Cards until your opponent controls the same number of monsters as you.: Can the effect of "Core Blast" or "Pineapple Blast" destroy Spell and Trap Cards?

When "Junk Collector" is Summoned and is the only monster on the field, you cannot activate the effect of "Junk Collector" by removing from play "Pineapple Blast: Can the effect of "Junk Collector" be activated by removing from play cards like "Treacherous Trap Hole" and "Pineapple Blast"?

Previously Official Rulings

When "
Ring of Destruction" or "Call of the Haunted" is chained to "Pineapple Blast", and the number of monsters on the field is changed, count the number of monsters at resolution of "Pineapple Blast"s effect, not at activation.

If, when "Pineapple Blast" resolves, you have no monsters, all of your opponent's monsters are destroyed too.

If you Summon a monster and want to activate "Pineapple Blast", and your opponent wants to use "Trap Hole", "Pineapple Blast" is Step 1 of the chain and "Trap Hole" is Step 2.

Mentions in Other Rulings

Creeping Doom Manta / Eagle Eye / Invasion of Flames / Tactical Espionage Expert: The effect of this monster is applied to both players (so you cannot activate "Pineapple Blast" in response to your Normal Summon of this monster).
