This card is based on a Dyson sphere, a hypothetical technological megastructure that encircles or encloses either a star or a star and its solar system, designed to harvest a sun's vast energy to benefit the people living within the Dyson sphere.
In the anime, this is one of the largest, if not the largest, monsters seen so far, being slightly smaller than the Sun when in its sealed form. When it is in its true form, it is big enough to surround the Sun with its panels.
During Kite Tenjo's Duel against Vetrix, this monster's panels are shown to have buildings, which means that its panels are not just for supplying energy but also for supporting entire cities. This confirms Quinton's statement about Dyson Sphere being a space colony.
This monster appears in the artworks of Gravity Blaster, Space Gate and Monopole Chain.
This card is the first Rank 9 Xyz Monster.
This sealed form of this Number resembles a meteor with its panels covering it. It then slowly spreads out its panels to reveal its whole form.
When this monster detaches an Xyz Material, it absorbs it through its center opening.
This is the first and currently only Xyz Monster that doesn't have its Xyz Material revolving around it in the normal manner.
Instead, this monster's Xyz Materials seem to flow through its panels. If they need to be used for its effect, they simply leave the panels.

The effect that negates attacks is a Quick Effect that is activated during the Battle Step. It doesn't target the attacking monster.: Number 9: Dyson Sphere
The effect that places 2 monsters under this card as Xyz Materials targets 2 monsters in your Graveyard.
The effect that allows this card to attack directly is an Ignition Effect that you can activate during your Main Phase.
As for the effect of "Number 9: Dyson Sphere" that negates attacks during the Battle Step when it is targeted for an attack while it has Xyz Materials, if the opponent controls several monsters, each time "Number 9: Dyson Sphere" is targeted for an attack, its effect can be activated once during each Battle Step.: Can the effect of "Number 9: Dyson Sphere" that negates attacks be activated each time it is targeted for an attack by an opponent's monster?
If the activation of the effect of "Number 9: Dyson Sphere" that negates attacks when it is attacked and it has Xyz Materials is negated by the effect of "Light and Darkness Dragon", that effect of "Number 9: Dyson Sphere" cannot be activated again during that Battle Step.
