 This card was one of the first 5 cards ever released to have a Card Effect to it. The other 4 were Exodia the Forbidden One, Armed Ninja, Reaper of the Cards, and Hane-Hane. In the OCG, Exodia was released somewhat later, with its place taken by Skelengel.

This card is the EARTH equivalent of Snowman Eater since both monsters' effects activate when flipped up.

Old Vindictive Magician has the same ATK, DEF and Level, but the difference is the Attribute and Type. They both share the same effects except that this card can destroy one of your own monsters, unlike Old Vindictive Magician.

Man-Eater Bug is the larval or nymph form of Nobleman-Eater Bug, which looks like a bigger, stronger man-eater bug with beetle-like wings. Also, Nobleman-Eater Bug has double the ATK and DEF of Man-Eater Bug and destroys 2 monsters on the field.

Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame: If Shura is destroyed by a Flip Effect like “Man-Eater Bug,” Shura’s effect does not activate.

Torapart: If a monster Synchro Summoned with “Torapart” attacks, and is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard during the Damage Step, the effect of “Torapart” still prevents Trap Cards from being activated until the Damage Step is over (example: if it attacks a face-down “Man-Eater Bug” and is destroyed by that effect).

If "Chaos-End Master" attacks and destroys a face-down "Man-Eater Bug", and "Chaos-End Master" is destroyed by "Man-Eater Bug"s effect, then "Chaos-End Master"s effect does not activate, since it must be on the field when "Man-Eater Bug" is sent to the Graveyard.: When "Chaos-End Master" leaves the field before the destroyed monster is sent to the Graveyard, can you Special Summon a monster from your Deck?

If "Gladiator Beast Alexander" attacks a face-down "Man-Eater Bug" and its effect activates after damage calculation, then if "Gladiator Beast War Chariot" negates the activation of the effect and destroys it, then "Gladiator Beast Alexander" is treated as having battled. Thus, at the end of the Battle Phase you can activate the effect of "Gladiator Beast Alexander" which Special Summons another "Gladiator Beast" monster from your Deck.: Can the effect of a monster like "Gladiator Beast Alexander" be activated if the opponent's battling monster is destroyed when "Gladiator Beast War Chariot" is activated during the Damage Step?
