Despite this, “Sasuke Samurai 3” is the only member of the series who has an effect that actually deals with the hand.
This card is an alternate version of Card Destruction.
The names of these cards are ironically reversed. Hand Destruction sends only two cards from both hands to the Graveyard, while Card Destruction actually discards both players' entire hands.
The effect is also a watered down version of “Graceful Charity”.
“Gold Moon Coin” is also an arguably weaker version of this card.
In the TCG, each player cannot draw if the cards that they would have sent to the Graveyard are banished instead.
In the OCG, each player can draw.
In the TCG, if one player cannot send 2 cards from their hand to the Graveyard, the other player still does and then draws.
In the OCG, if one player cannot send 2 cards from their hand to the Graveyard, then neither player does.OCG Rulings
This effect does not target.: Hand Destruction
Cannot be activated during the Damage Step.
If there are not at least two cards in both your hand and your opponent's hand, or if there are not at least two cards in both your Deck and your opponent's Deck, "Hand Destruction" cannot be activated.
"Each player sends 2 cards from their hand to the Graveyard" and "then draws 2 cards" are not treated as being done at the same time. Also, each player drawing by "then draws 2 cards" is treated as happening at the same time.
The effect of a monster like "Sillva, Warlord of Dark World" only activates when it is "discarded to the Graveyard" from the hand by a card effect. The effects of "Hand Destruction" and "Veil of Darkness" "send to the Graveyard" the cards—this is not the same as "discard to the Graveyard". Thus, if a monster like "Sillva, Warlord of Dark World" is sent to the Graveyard by these effects, then you cannot activate its effect.: Can "Sillva, Warlord of Dark World" use its effect to Special Summon itself from the Graveyard when it is sent to the Graveyard by the effect of "Hand Destruction" or "Veil of Darkness"?
The first player conducts their Draw Phase during their first turn, but they only cannot conduct their normal draw at the start of that Draw Phase. Therefore, if the effect of the card "Hand Destruction", etc. is activated, it is possible to draw by a card's effect.: Do you conduct the Draw Phase in the first player's first turn?
When resolving "Hand Destruction", if the number of cards in either player's hand has become 1 or fewer and so 2 cards cannot be sent to the Graveyard, the resolution of the effect of "Hand Destruction" is not applied. Neither player sends cards from their hand to the Graveyard or draws.: If the number of cards in the hand or Deck becomes 1 when "Hand Destruction" resolves, how does it resolve?
When resolving "Hand Destruction", even if the number of cards in either player's Deck has become 1 or fewer, the effect is still applied. Because 2 cards must be drawn from the Deck, the player who cannot draw 2 cards loses the Duel.
Even if the cards that would have been sent to the Graveyard by "Hand Destruction" are banished without being sent to the Graveyard by the effect of "Macro Cosmos", "Banisher of the Light", etc., after that 2 cards are still drawn from the Deck.: At the time "Hand Destruction" is being resolved, if cards sent to the Graveyard are banished instead due to the effect of "Macro Cosmos", etc., can cards be drawn?
While the effect of "Protector of the Sanctuary" is being applied, neither player can activate "Hand Destruction".: Can "Hand Destruction" be activated if "Protector of the Sanctuary" is face-up on the field?
Erebus the Underworld Monarch: When resolving the effect of a Tribute Summoned "Erebus the Underworld Monarch", if you have less than 2 "Monarch" Spell/Trap Cards in your hand/Deck (due to "Hand Destruction", etc.), the effect of "Erebus the Underworld Monarch" is not applied. (No "Monarch" Spell/Trap Cards are sent to the Graveyard, and an opponent’s card is not returned to the Deck.): When resolving the effect of a Tribute Summoned "Erebus the Underworld Monarch", if there are no longer 2 different "Monarch" Spell/Trap Cards in your hand/Deck, how does its effect resolve?
Zushin the Sleeping Giant: Even if the "Zushin the Sleeping Giant" that was revealed to activate its effect is sent from your hand to the Graveyard (due to the effect of "Hand Destruction", etc.), the Zushin Counter
"Hand Destruction" cannot be activated if either play{{sic has 1 or less cards in their hand and/or remaining in their Deck. If you have "Hand Destruction" and 1 other card in your hand, you cannot activate "Hand Destruction".
"Hand Destruction" cannot be activated while "Protector of the Sanctuary" is face-up on the field.
If "Macro Cosmos" is face-up on the field, "Hand Destruction" can still be activated. The cards sent from the hand to the Graveyard are removed from play instead.
