This card’s stats are the inverse of “Sorcerer of Dark Magic”, another upgraded counterpart to Dark Magician.
This card's effect in the TCG is a much weaker version of its anime effect, where in addition to letting you search a Spell Card from your deck, also allowed you to activate them from your hand during your opponent's turn.
This monster is one of the few, if not the only, in the game that quite literally requires pure luck to be Summoned, as you have to call a coin toss correctly.

When resolving the effect of "Time Wizard", if there are no monsters on your opponent's side of the field because of "Compulsory Evacuation Device", or if the only monster on your opponent's side of the field cannot be destroyed by card effects because of "Forbidden Dress", if you called the coin toss correctly, you can still Special Summon "Dark Sage".: If I successfully call the coin toss for "Time Wizard" but cannot destroy the opponent's monsters, can I Special Summon "Dark Sage"?
