This card's name is a play on the Japanese word for 'Tiger' (, Tora) and the English word 'Dragon' which is pronounced as 'Doragon' in Japanese. Since it's a 'Tiger Dragon' (as hinted by its feline appearance), it's a 'Toragon'.
This card's English name is a combination of Tiger and Dragon.
This card may be a reference to Baby Dragon.
His effect, portrayed in the anime as a monster riding Baby Tiragon, can also be a reference to Alligator's Sword Dragon.

Interestingly, the artwork has the monster in its sad face like how it was Summoned in Attack Mode in the anime but its ATK and DEF would make it wise to have it in Defense Mode and in which case, it should have a happy expression.
