Similar to Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Meteor Black Dragon, this card was known as B. Skull Dragon from its initial release in the TCG until its reprint in Legendary Duelists: Season 1.
This card's artwork is taken from , specifically from the panel showing the combined form of Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Summoned Skull.
This monster has an upgraded counterpart: Archfiend Black Skull Dragon.
This is supported by the fact that this card's name is referenced in that monster's name, as well as the two monster sharing the same Attribute, Level, Type, ATK and DEF
