If "
A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon" is activated and "Book of Moon" is chained, flipping the only Level 5 or higher Dragon-Type monster on the controller's side of the field face-down, then "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon" resolves without effect.
Since the entire effect of "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon" happens during resolution, the controller of the effect must be able to return a Level 5 or higher Dragon-Type monster from the field to the hand during resolution of the effect. A face-down monster's Level and Type cannot be determined, so it cannot be returned for the effect. Without returning an appropriate monster, the effect of "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon" cannot continue to resolve as the conjunction "and if you do" is used, so the effect of "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon" resolves without effect.: A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon vs Book of Moon

OCG Rulings

The effect of "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon" doesn't target.: A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon

The effect of "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon" cannot return a face-down Dragon-Type monster to the hand.

An "Archlord Kristya" treated as a Dragon-Type monster by the effect of "DNA Surgery" can be chosen to be returned to the hand by the effect of "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon", but since it returns to the top of the Deck instead of the hand, the "destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the field." effect is not applied.: If "DNA Surgery" is treating all monsters as Dragon-Type, you control an "Archlord Kristya" treated as a Dragon-Type monster, and you activate "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon" choosing "Archlord Kristya", since "Archlord Kristya" returns to the top of the Deck by its own effect instead of returning to the hand, is the effect that destroys all cards in both Spell & Trap Card Zones still applied?

Even if you only control a Level 5 or higher "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6", you can activate "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon". Also, you can choose to return "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6" to the hand by the effect of "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon", but since it's unaffected by Spell Cards, it does not return to the hand, and the "destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the field: If you only control a "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6" that is unaffected by Spell Cards, can you activate "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon"?

{{sic">{{Span
Fusion, Synchro or Xyz Monster can be chosen by the effect of "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon". Also, the chosen monster isn't returned to the hand and is returned to the Extra Deck instead. Furthermore, if a Fusion Monster is chosen by the effect of "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon" and the chosen monster isn't returned to the hand, the "destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the field: Can a Fusion, Synchro or Xyz Monster be chosen by "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon" effect? Also, if they can be chosen and the monster isn't returned to the hand, is the effect that destroys all cards in both Spell & Trap Card Zones still applied?

Previously Official Rulings

If you select a Level 5 or higher
Dragon-Type Fusion Monster, it is returned to your Extra Deck.

If the selected Dragon-Type monster is flipped face-down, removed from the field, or has its Monster Type changed, "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon's" effect disappears.

Out of Date

A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon" targets 1 Level 5 or higher Dragon-Type monster. This newest Problem-Solving Card Text of this card makes this ruling invalid. "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon" does not target; it chooses which monster to return to the hand when it's being resolved.
